Responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting for the Commercial Team this will include ensuring that payments are received and paid in a punctual and effective manner and that at all times the budget is adhered to. Proactively drive and demonstrate the Go-Ahead Visions and Values to ensure that they become embedded in the culture across London.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
Responsible for the accountable accuracy of the mileage / revenue sheet to ensure this matches the income and the jobs run.
Responsible for adhering to the period end reporting deadlines and the established reporting cycle in relation to the commercial accounts.
Responsible for ensuring that invoicing is completed accurately, in a timely manner and in line with agreed pricing / contracts.
Responsible for managing any aged debtors and chasing all debtors for payment of overdue invoices.
Responsible for the production of regular future income forecasts and budgets ensuring that any underlying assumptions are accurately recorded.
Responsible for explaining to the senior team the commercial team results and any specific or unusual variances to budgets and forecasts.
Establish key reporting processes to support the Commercial and Rail Replacement teams with monitoring performance and ensuring that any contracts are profitably and beneficial and do not run at a loss.
Build strong working relationships with colleagues in the Go-Ahead London Finance team to establish strong financial controls and accuracy of reporting.
Responsible for raising all Commercial purchase orders through the Oracle system in a timely and prompt manner liaising with the iProcurement Manager to ensure timely payments to suppliers.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining a diary of key dates to include contract prices reviews and other deadlines that are significant and relevant to the commercial team and ensuring key dates are highlighted to the Commercial Manager in a timely manner.
Support stakeholders within the Commercial and Finance teams to produce reports and analyse the commercial finance data.

These are exciting times at Go Ahead London as we look to expand the Apprenticeship Team at our Training Academy and recruit someone with a keen interest in Learning and Development. We are looking for a flexible individual who already has a background in teaching functional skills English and maths, experience in supporting apprentices with SEND needs and has a keen interest in developing and implementing practices that ensure our apprentices have the right support to pass the level 1/2 functional skills English and Maths exams.
Reporting to the Apprenticeship Manager, some of the primary tasks are detailed below:
Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths to Level 2, to apprentices of all ages. This must be of a high quality in teaching, learning and assessment, both in a classroom setting to a group or on a one-to-one basis to prepare apprentices to sit Functional Skills, English and Maths exams.Develop classroom lesson plans and learning materials e.g. worksheets, games, visual prompt cards etc.Take an active role in identifying individual learner support needs, developing or sourcing solutions and implementing effective strategies to meet those development needs. Facilitate BKSB Initial and Diagnostic assessments with learners and use results to create individual ILPs. Use the BKSB learning resources and other support materials and map progress against each learning aim on OneFile.Set teaching, learning and assessment plans using SMART targets through OneFile e-portfolio and document all delivery of English and Maths within OneFile.Develop resources for Functional Skills English and Maths delivery in support of apprenticeship assessors and learners.Provide timely and effective feedback to learners that contribute to learner development and success.
To organise and maintain an inclusive learning environment for all apprentices.
To maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the apprentices’ needs but have regard to the safeguarding procedures of the apprenticeship.
To design or modify resources as suggested and advised by the Apprenticeship Manager, IQA’s.In addition to the key tasks above, there will be a requirement to undertake a DBS check and partake in external audits such as Ofsted Inspections, as well as keeping accurate and up-to-date records.

Go Ahead London’s buses are on the Capital’s roads 24 hours a day. These vehicles cost anywhere between £125,000 – £500,000 and are equipped with the latest technologies and innovations. We expect them to be maintained to the highest standards and ready to go into service at a moment’s notice.
To achieve this we are looking to recruit Apprentice Technicians that are highly motivated and have the ability to learn and understand complex Mechanical and Electrical systems. On the job training is provided in our garages, which means that you learn from a more experienced member of staff. Off-site training is also provided at college on either day release or residential block release. You will obtain a Mechanical/Electrical Level 3 Apprenticeship in Bus and Coach Engineering Maintenance.
On completion of the apprenticeship you will be qualified to become a Senior Vehicle Engineer. For the right candidate there will be opportunities to build a successful career in the bus industry.

If the applicant does not hold a PCV licence training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be required to work nights (38 hours a week) including weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
