Go-Ahead is a leading bus operator in the UK both in and outside London, operating about 2450 buses and employing around 7500 staff operating from various sites in the capital.


The successful applicant may be required to work at any Go Ahead London location. There may also be opportunities to work overtime.




The main duties of this post are:


• Issue of materials from stores as required
• Receipt of materials from stores as necessary
• Driving, loading/unloading of vehicles
• Operating a fork lift truck
• Using the company computerised stock control system
• Raising of purchase orders as permitted
• Serving Engineers with material at a counter service
• Booking in material from outside suppliers as required
• The allocation and storage of goods inwards
• Expediting of Purchase Orders as necessary
• Stock Taking as required
• Any other instruction related to the stores environment as directed in conjunction with the company’s purchasing procedures


Applicants must be able bodied as the role will involve lifting and moving parts and must be in possession of a FULL driving licence, with a sound knowledge of computer packages. Staff may at times be required to work unsupervised and must therefore possess the relevant initiative and drive to work on their own.




The successful applicant will be asked to serve a probationary period.  The applicant will be asked to achieve accreditation under the NVQ scheme for the stores staff after the probation is passed. The rate of pay for this post (GH01) is £623.32 per week. The successful applicant is required to work 38 hours a week which could be on an early/ middle/ late shift basis.
