Go Ahead London’s buses are on roads 24 hours a day.  The vehicles cost between £125,000 – £500,000 and are equipped with the latest technologies and innovations.  We maintain the vehicles to the highest standards and they are all ready to go into service at a moment’s notice.

To continue to achieve these high standards we are now looking to recruit a number of Apprentice Technicians to join our team.  We are looking for people who are motivated and have the ability to learn and understand complex mechanical and electrical engineering systems.  On the job training is provided in our garages, so you will learn from skilled colleagues employed across the business.  Additionally, you will attend training at college on either day release or residential block release to enable you to achieve a Mechanical/Electrical Level 3 Apprenticeship in Bus and Coach Engineering Maintenance.  On completion of the apprenticeship you will be a qualified Senior Vehicle Engineer and we hope that opportunities will exist for you to build a successful career with Go Ahead London. 

Entry requirements
We look for motivation individuals who want to learn and have a passion for the automotive industry. All applicants for our Apprenticeship will go through a robust selection process, including testing and interviews before being offered a position on our Apprenticeship scheme.

Earn while you learn
We offer competitive rates of pay currently £387.60 for a 38-hour week and other benefits include 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, and 25 days after 5 years of service plus free travel on the TfL network.

Driving requirements
Successful applicants who do not already hold a valid Full UK driving licence will be required to pass a driving test before the end of their second year and you will be required to hold a PCV licence, for which full training will be provided, by the end of the third year.
